Health and Development reviews
Bedfordshire Community Health Services' Health Visiting Service delivers the Healthy Child Programme. This involved undertaking health and development reviews with you and your child.
The programme has the following key milestones:
- antenatal contact
- new birth visit within 10 - 21 days
- 6 to 10 weeks contact
- 9 to 12 month review
- 3 and a 1/4 year review
Find out more about these appointments and reviews here.
During your child’s development reviews, your health visitor will ask you how your child is doing and about any concerns you may have. If your baby was born prematurely, their developmental age will be calculated from your original due date, not from the actual date they were born. It is a good idea to think about any concerns or questions you have before you see your health visitor and write them down so that you don’t forget to ask anything.
