Smiley Club - TERM TIME ONLY
Smiley Club is an evening Youth Club run by Bedford Mencap for children and young people with learning disabilities aged from 9-18yrs.
There are some regular activities available such as art & craft work or playing with the parachute, but members are allowed/encouraged to do what they want to do, which often means just socializing with their friends. There are several themed evenings (Valentine’s, Halloween, Christmas etc) which always include some form of party food!
Smiley Club is a “parent-free” zone, so parents/carers benefit from the respite break. The Club’s long term leader is Jeff Smith and he, like everyone else, is a volunteer. Minibus transport is available in Bedford and Kempston, and you can contact Mike Bonney (01234 781254) for more information about this.
Location : Pine Cones Children Centre (off Clapham Road, behind Livingstone Lower School)
When: Wednesday evenings during term time 7pm to 8.30pm
