Bedford Borough Transition Bridge Calendars

Moving from an Early Years setting into School or moving year groups is like crossing a river for some of our families, and they want to be sure that their child’s needs will continue to be met on the other side.

The key message families need to hear is “We are able to support all families and all children to achieve success.” 

To help you achieve confidence in supporting all children and all families within the transition process the ‘Bedford Borough Transition Bridges’, guidance will support you to embed a successful transition across the whole of the academic year.

There are two transition bridges, one from Early Years into reception and one from reception into year one. Each month supports a cycle of access, plan and do, thus ensuring transition is a process and not an event.
