Florence House

My name is Paulyn Brown I am the Director of Harriston Homes and the Registered Manager at Florence House. I am a qualified registered Social Worker with HCPC and over 30 years’ experience. I established Harrison Homes 8 years ago with the aim providing high quality respite and long-term residential care for young adults with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, brain injury, mild disability mental health and behaviours that might be challenging.

We recognise the need for high quality supported transition for young adults moving from Children’s Services to Adult services, as this can be an anxious time for young adults and their families. Our experienced staff have experience of working in partnership with the NHS and Local authorities to make the transition a positive and successful experience. We also have experience of working in partnership with Intensive Support Teams to provide the best possible service for our young adults and their families.

We are able to offer our young adults a homely environment at Florence House which is a detached house attractively presented throughout, which consists of ground and first floor. On the ground floor there are four reception rooms including an office and a conservatory, a kitchen, utility room and a toilet. On the first floor there are four bedrooms one with en-suite. Outside there is a large garden plus an outdoor heated swimming pool with a pool house. For health and safety reasons the swimming pool is securely fenced. There is also a large garage and ample off-street parking.
