Listening Books is a national audiobook library that provides a fantastic range of titles for those who find it difficult to read or hold a book, due to an illness, disability, mental health or learning difficulty. We have recently received funding to be able to offer a number of free memberships for people living in Bedfordshire, who would like to join but would it difficult to cover our usual membership fees, of between £20 to £45 per year, for any reason.

We accept self-referrals and referrals from families, carers, schools, care homes, other organisations etc.
How to refer into your service? Any limited availability information
Membership is available to children and adults who have an illness, physical or learning disability, mental health condition, or learning difficulty which impacts on their ability to read or hold books in the usual way. Our service is not only for people with visual impairments, but many other conditions as well, such as: dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADD/ADHD, autism, Asperger’s syndrome, anxiety, depression, problems with manual dexterity, fibromyalgia, Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, heart or neurological conditions and many more.
